Latest News About My Album Release March 31, 2018

I’m going to be having my second album release at the end of March. This will be the first of 4 EP releases Knight in Armourin 2018. This is somewhat of a continuation of the series begun with my “Music For Stories Untold”. Once again the music will be original cinematic music. But it’s different in that it will be more specific to a particular type of story and musical genre. Television series and films that are reminiscent of British history, the makebelieve and bygone eras inspire the theme of this album.

Some Great Composers

I’m a fan of composers for TV shows such as Poldark (Anne Dudley), Downton Abbey (John Lunn), Victoria (Martin Phipps and Ruth Barrett, The Crown (Hans Zimmer and Rupert Gregson-Williams) and films like Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore). What I really enjoy most about these composers is their melodic writing. They really know how to write compelling, passionate and memorable melodies. The scores are examples of beautiful writing highlighted by a deep knowledge of harmony and orchestration. The music is at times very sensitive, poignant and dramatic. What am I up to?

I’ve been hard at work composing new music and polishing up what’s already been in production. Here are titles to some of the pieces that will be on the album. Cold, Dark, Mountain, Knights of the Forest, Love is a Tempest, Battle of the Bows (still not sure about this title), From Here To Eternity, Upton Abbey and OceanMaker. cold dark mountain

The music brings to mind visions of epic landscapes, heroes, queens, love, gallantry, swashbuckling and adventure.
